EdTech Bible V2
I am currently working on updating The EdTech Bible and plan to release EdTech Bible v2 in Spring 2025. The original EdTech Bible, published in 2017, was designed to support higher education faculty in effectively integrating technology into their teaching practices. Drawing from over a decade of experience as an instructional technologist in New York City, the book provided practical, hands-on guidance for educators at all levels. It covered foundational technology skills, advanced tools, and strategies, aimed at making instructional technology accessible and useful both in and outside the classroom. Topics included social bookmarking, using and creating video, smartphones, tablets, and apps, designing presentations, social media for building personal learning networks (PLNs), and more.

The EdTech Bible v2 will build upon the original foundation, introducing new topics focused on content creation, digital citizenship, productivity, and advanced educational tools. The second volume will include chapters on mastering audio/visual creation, using advanced tools like Panopto and Voicethread, data visualization, and making the most of Zoom, among others. It will also address practical aspects of digital citizenship, such as curating your digital presence, blogging for professional growth, and building personal learning networks through social media.
The EdTech Bible v2 will provide actionable steps, practical examples, and resources for educators to master the tools that enhance their teaching, foster student engagement, and keep pace with the ever-evolving educational technology landscape. Each chapter will be filled with resources that help educators feel confident in using technology to improve their work and the educational experience they provide for their students.

EdTech Student Bootcamp: Navigating Technology for Success
Building upon the success of the Faculty EdTech Bootcamp, I am currently developing a Student EdTech Bootcamp to empower students with the skills and confidence needed to effectively navigate and utilize educational technologies throughout their academic journey. This hands-on, interactive bootcamp will introduce students to essential tools for digital learning, collaboration, and productivity, ensuring they are well-equipped to succeed in the digital classroom and empower them with the skills and confidence to effectively use educational technologies throughout their academic journey.
The bootcamp will emphasize the development of critical technology skills to support academic success, covering everything from managing assignments and collaborating with peers to using advanced tools for research and digital communication. Students will become familiar with online platforms like Blackboard, Google Workspace, and Zoom, learning to use these tools to enhance their learning experience. In addition to technology skills, the program will focus on productivity strategies, including time management, note-taking apps, and task management tools.
Collaboration is a key component of the bootcamp, and students will gain insights into working effectively on group projects, using shared documents, video conferencing tools, and online discussion boards. The bootcamp will also help students build their digital literacy, teaching them how to evaluate sources, use research databases, and maintain a professional digital presence. Academic integrity will be a focal point, with lessons on proper citation practices and recognizing plagiarism in digital spaces. Accessibility features in educational tools will be highlighted, ensuring that all students can maximize their learning potential, regardless of individual needs.
By providing students with a comprehensive toolkit for success in a tech-enabled learning environment, this bootcamp will help them develop the skills needed for academic achievement and equip them for future success in the digital age.

Emerging Technologies Make-a-thon
I'm working with LITE to organize a make-a-thon later this year, building on the success of past events like our Faculty Technology Day. This event will be an exciting, hands-on event designed to foster innovation and collaboration among educators, technologists, students, and community members. Participants will explore emerging technologies and leverage cutting-edge tools to create practical solutions that enhance teaching, learning, and research. With a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, the Make-a-thon brings together faculty, students, and tech enthusiasts to tackle real-world challenges, develop innovative prototypes, and build new digital resources.
Through workshops, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative projects, attendees will gain new insights into the latest advancements in educational technology and research computing, from artificial intelligence to data visualization. This event is ideal for those looking to push the boundaries of what’s possible in education and research, while staying grounded in Fordham’s mission of service and innovation.
