All about the kidneys...
I never really thought much about kidneys until mine shut down. Even after passing a kidney stone it didn't really register just how critical kidney function is. But as a dialysis survivor, I am now all about the kidneys.
Dialysis saved my life.I was extremely lucky to have excellent health insurence to cover my dialysis care and am very thankful to also have regained kidney function. But others are still in need.
Donate to my campaign for the American Kidney Fund (AKF) to support dialysis patients. AKF provides prevention activities, top-related health educational resources, and direct financial assistance enabling 1 in 5 US dialysis patients to access lifesaving medical care, including dialysis and transplantation.
They spend 97 cents out of every donated dollar on patients and programs. |
Upcoming plansFor National Kidney Awareness Month (March) I am going to plan a fundraising event at Fordham University. Please contact me if you'd like to help plan or participate in the event.
